A Genuine Visit to a Working Reindeer Farm

Welcome to our peaceful working reindeer farm in the heart of the Lappish countryside, just over an hour north of Rovaniemi.

Meet our friendly reindeer up close, feed them by hand, and experience everyday life on a real family-run reindeer farm in Finnish Lapland. Take your time to observe the herd, ask questions, and enjoy an authentic encounter with these remarkable Arctic animals.

Our farm is home to four generations of reindeer herders. The oldest was born in 1948, the youngest in 2026, and the rest of us somewhere in between. Reindeer herding has been our family's way of life for generations, and we're always happy to share our knowledge, stories, and experiences. Whether you're curious about reindeer, reindeer herding, life in Lapland, or our family's way of life, we'd love to chat.

During your visit, you're welcome to relax in our traditional heated kota and enjoy your own snacks by the open fire while taking in the peaceful atmosphere of the Arctic countryside.

The visit at the farm lasts approximately 1.5 hours. If you book transportation with us, the total duration of the experience is approximately 4 hours, including return transfers between Rovaniemi and our farm.

Whether you arrive using your own transportation or join one of our scheduled transfers, we look forward to welcoming you and giving you a genuine glimpse into life on a real working reindeer farm.

        Reindeer Journey is a real working reindeer farm, not a theme park or purpose-built tourist attraction. We have created a comfortable and welcoming environment for our guests, including a traditional heated kota and eco toilets, while preserving the authentic atmosphere of our family farm and the surrounding wilderness.

        Our experiences are based on genuine everyday life, free-ranging semi-wild reindeer, and the changing rhythm of Lapland's eight seasons. Here you'll meet real reindeer herders, visit the places where we live and work, and experience the Arctic as it truly is.

        Respect for nature, our animals, and local culture is at the heart of everything we do. We minimise waste, recycle whenever possible, and choose environmentally friendly solutions throughout our operations. We also protect the forests around our farm through responsible management, including our own officially protected private nature reserve, helping to preserve this unique environment for future generations.
