Tailor-Made Private Experiences at Our Reindeer Farm

Our family-run reindeer farm offers a unique setting for private events, celebrations and tailor-made experiences throughout the year. Tell us your idea, your group and what you would like to experience. We will build the programme together with you.

We welcome corporate groups, incentive groups, families, schools, associations, hobby groups and groups of friends. The farm also offers a memorable setting for proposals, weddings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations.

The programme can be active, relaxing, educational, delicious, funny or a little bit of everything.

Challenge your group to a traditional Lappish suopunki throwing competition. Enjoy a traditional meal prepared for you or join us in preparing it yourself. Try pony agility, a playful obstacle course that works especially well with groups ready to bring along their sense of humour.

Your group can make a traditional handicraft to take home, compete in a Lapland-themed quiz, explore Arctic nature or simply slow down and relax together.

We also create science-based programmes about animal learning, behaviour, welfare and training. Reindeer, ponies and dogs can help us explore how animals learn and communicate. And since humans are animals too, these programmes can offer some surprisingly familiar insights into our own behaviour, motivation and learning.

Our surroundings are also ideal for programmes focused on nature, relaxation and observation. We can listen to the forest, recognise birds, explore local plants and wildlife, learn about Arctic nature or simply spend time together away from the city.

Our warm, insulated traditional kota accommodates up to 40 guests at a time. We have modern eco-friendly toilets and plenty of outdoor space surrounded by forests and Arctic nature. Larger groups can rotate smoothly between different activities. We can organise programmes for up to approximately 90 guests at a time.

Tailor-Made Science, Culture & Nature Programmes

Our tailor-made educational and expert programmes combine authentic experiences with research-based knowledge. Set on our working family reindeer farm in the peaceful countryside of Finnish Lapland, they offer a unique opportunity to learn through direct contact with nature, animals, and the people whose lives are closely connected to them.

These programmes are suitable for schools, universities, exchange students, study groups, professionals, hobby associations, corporate groups, and anyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the Arctic.

Our science-based educational programmes are led by a guide who holds a PhD and a Specialist Vocational Qualification in Animal Training, combining academic expertise with extensive practical experience in reindeer herding, animal behaviour, welfare, and training.

Practical Experiences

Programmes can include authentic experiences at our farm, such as reindeer sleigh rides, guided farm visits, meeting and feeding the reindeer, walking with reindeer or ponies, traditional open-fire meals, storytelling around the fire in our heated kota, suopunki (traditional reindeer lasso) throwing, handicraft workshops using genuine reindeer antler, relaxation and wellbeing experiences in nature, and other activities tailored to your group.

When seasonal reindeer herding work allows, it may occasionally be possible to observe authentic reindeer roundups in autumn or calf earmarking in summer. These are genuine working events rather than tourist attractions, so availability is extremely limited.

All programmes are tailored to the interests, background, age, and objectives of each group. They may combine lectures, discussions, demonstrations, practical workshops, and hands-on experiences to create an engaging and memorable learning experience.

Our expertise is built on generations of practical reindeer herding, professional experience in animal training and tourism, and an academic background spanning the natural sciences, behavioural sciences, education, and social sciences. We believe that the most meaningful learning happens when scientific knowledge meets authentic lived experience.

Other Things to Know

Although our farm is part of the City of Rovaniemi, it is located in the peaceful countryside, surrounded by forests, Arctic nature, and free-ranging reindeer. Here, you can experience the quieter side of Finnish Lapland and enjoy an authentic visit to a real working reindeer farm.

The drive from Rovaniemi city centre takes approximately 1 hour 15–30 minutes. The final 22 kilometres follow a quiet country road. Please allow about 30 minutes for this section and drive carefully. We recommend an average speed of around 50 km/h, especially during winter conditions. Reindeer are often found on or near the road.

Please dress warmly for outdoor activities. We provide blankets during the sleigh ride, but proper winter clothing, warm boots, mittens, and a hat that covers your ears are essential for staying comfortable.

Our traditional kota is insulated and heated, providing a warm place to relax before and after the outdoor activities. The farm also has modern eco-friendly toilets.

For the safety and wellbeing of both our guests and our reindeer, outdoor programmes may be cancelled if weather conditions become too severe. If we need to cancel your experience for safety reasons, you will be notified as soon as possible and receive a full refund.
