The programme includes:

Arrival

Guests arrive at the farm using their own transportation.

Farm address:
Tolosentie 2202
97340 Meltaus, Finland

The recommended arrival time is approximately 10:00.

Small changes in arrival time are not a problem, as the farm is reserved exclusively for your group. However, daylight is limited in early January, and approximately 10:00–15:00 provides the best natural light for the outdoor parts of the programme.

The road to the farm is maintained throughout the winter, and parking is available at the farm.

Winter clothing

Thermal winter clothing and boots are included.

Accurate clothing sizes and shoe sizes are required in advance so that suitable equipment can be reserved.

Please also let us know whether you will bring your own warm winter hats and gloves or mittens, or whether you would like us to provide these.

Warm hats should cover the head and ears. Ear warmers alone are not sufficient for a January outdoor programme.

Food

Please confirm your preferred lunch choices in advance, at least two weeks before the tour.

Separate familiar meals can be prepared for children according to their preferences.

All food allergies, intolerances and other dietary requirements must be communicated in advance.

Private programme

The programme is fully exclusive and is not combined with another customer group.

The time spent on the different activities can be adjusted flexibly according to your wishes, conditions on the day, safety and the wellbeing of the reindeer.

Reindeer welfare and safety

All activities involving the reindeer are carried out on the animals’ terms.

Weather, snow conditions, safety and the wellbeing of the individual reindeer may affect how individual activities are carried out.

Children and adults do not drive a reindeer independently. An experienced reindeer herder remains responsible for the reindeer and sleigh at all times.

Cancellation conditions

  • cancellations made more than one month before the programme are subject to a 10% cancellation fee;
  • cancellations made less than one month but more than seven days before the programme are subject to a 20% cancellation fee;
  • cancellations made seven days or less before the programme, as well as no-shows, are charged 100% of the programme price.

If Reindeer Journey has to cancel the entire programme because of extreme weather conditions or another force majeure situation, all payments will be fully refunded.
